Vernon K. Cook


1926-2006


A private family service will take place for Vernon K. Cook, 80, who died Sept. 2, 2006, at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center in Carson City.


Mr. Cook was born July 11, 1926, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to Chester Kling Cook and Lois M. Everly Cook. He married Adela Martinez Jan. 15, 1949, in Reno. He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked in the garment industry as a factory manager.


Upon retirement, he and his wife, Adela, lived a nomadic life moving eight times and living their last few years together in the town they were married in.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Phyllis and wife, Adela.


He is survived by his children, daughters Sylvia Meyer and her husband Paul of Dayton and Selina Kostelnik and her husband Ken of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; two grandsons Dustin Page and Brent Kostelnik; two great-grandchildren Nathan and Serenity Page.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City. Cremation to take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City. Memorial donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.




Russell Earl "Red" Graham Jr.


1929-2006


Private family services are planned for Russell Earl "Red" Graham Jr., 76, who died Sept. 4, 2006, at his Carson City home.


Mr. Graham was born Dec. 4, 1929, in San Francisco to Russell E. Graham Sr. and Nellie F. Spelt Graham. A 44 year resident of the Bay Area, he moved to Carson City 33 years ago where he bought a ranch along the Carson River with his wife Lauretta in 1973. He named it "Chilnualna Ranch" after his beloved falls in Yosemite National Park.


He owned and operated an auto body shop for 40 years. He loved riding his horse, backpacking, fishing, oil painting and wood working.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lauretta and a sister Bonita Parks. He is survived by his daughter Laura Webb and her husband Terry of Fallon; daughter Audrey Frazee and her husband Robert Frazee of Minden; sister Betty Bulik of Mariposa, Calif.; brother Robert Graham of Mariposa, Calif.; four grandchildren Gary Frazee, Brian and wife Kristi Frazee, Lari Frazee and Jason Webb as well as two great-grandchildren Grace and Robert Frazee and numerous nieces and nephews.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley with cremation to take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
