The Douglas boys' tennis team was nearly flawless in defeating a much-improved Wooster squad 15-3 Thursday afternoon in Minden.
The Tiger starters lost only one match on their way to the big win, bouncing back from a narrow loss to South Tahoe earlier in the week.
With the win, Douglas improved to 2-2 overall on the year and 2-1 in Sierra League play. Douglas is also 2-0 at home.
No. 1 and No. 2 singles players Robert Shawhan and Matt McLaughlin were impressive, both sweeping the Colts 3-0. McLaughlin was perfect on the afternoon while Shawhan lost only two games.
Shawhan improved to 11-1 on the year and McLaughlin improved to 8-3.
Sophomore Marshall Jessup picked up two wins in the No. 3 singles spot, winning 6-4 and 6-0. Jessup, in his first year playing tennis, is 4-1 on the year.
James McLaughlin took on Wooster's No. 1 singles player and lost 6-3.
Trevor Mitchell and Josh Vega teamed up to win their three matches 6-2, 7-5 and 6-2.
Spike Neri and Andrew Soloman won once and John McLaughlin and Kevin Sacherman won once.
