Morgan LeFever punched in four goals to lead the Douglas girls' soccer team to a big 9-1 victory over North Valleys Saturday afternoon in north Reno.

The victory was Douglas' first in Sierra League play this season.

"The team definitely gelled today," coach Lorraine Fitzhugh said. "We are on an upswing and hopoefully we can carry that into South Tahoe."

Douglas was set to play No. 1 South Tahoe Tuesday afternoon. Results from that game will be on www.recordcourier.com and in Friday's R-C.

Saturday, LeFever extended her season total to seven and her career total to 37 with two unassisted goals and two goals on assists from Delaney Battista and Rachel Van Roy.

Ally Freitas and Van Roy each scored on Krista Anderson assists and the Tigers' got their final score on a North Valleys' own goal.

Douglas keeper Jamie Greer had one save and the Douglas defense helped shut down the Panthers.

The offensive output in the game accounted for almost half of the Tigers' scoring on the year as Douglas has put 17 goals in net overall while allowing 13.

Douglas improved to 3-3-2 overall and 1-1-1 in Sierra League play. The Tigers are home this weekend for a 3 p.m. game against Hug.
