A Gardnerville man faces five years in prison and a $5,000 fine after he admitted striking a woman with such force that he fractured her eye sockets.

Timothy Ozuna, 41, pleaded guilty Monday to battery causing substantial bodily harm that constitutes domestic violence.

He was accused of striking the victim on July 29 as she held a 10-month-old baby.

Ozuna told Judge Michael Gibbons that the alleged victim "did some stuff that's not on there, but I'm not going to point the finger."

Prosecutor Kris Brown said additional charges against Ozuna were dropped in exchange for the guilty plea.

Gibbons set sentencing for Oct.

n A Douglas County man who allegedly drove his vehicle through a South Carson City auto showroom narrowly missing two men is expected to plead guilty to two felony counts of battery with a deadly weapon and one count of malicious destruction of property.

In exchange for the plea, two charges of attempted murder will be dropped against Travis Williams, 23.

According to court records, Williams was arrested Nov. 11 after he allegedly drove his Dodge truck up a ramp toward two employees of Michael Hohl Motors in the 3700 block of South Carson Street.

When Williams was directed by officers to exit his vehicle, he came out holding a lighter and a marijuana water pipe.

In May, Williams' attorney Paul Geise entered pleas of not guilty by reason of insanity, though evaluations by two psychologists did not support that contention.

Geise indicated Williams was on psychiatric medications that might have distorted the doctors' findings.

Williams faces one to 17 years in prison when sentenced.
