Friends of a Genoa couple who lost their home and everything in it to fire last week have organized a benefit for Saturday.
Ted and Katie O'Neill lost their home and possessions in an early morning fire on Fifth Street on Sept. 20.
A fundraiser for them is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Orchard House in Genoa, according to host Randy Falcke.
"Everyone's welcome," he said. "We'll have a barbecue, beverages and music. All we are asking is that people bring whatever cash donations they can afford to make."
The band, Incandescent, will be performing live music.
"They don't need household items because they don't have a house," Falcke said. "They need money, gift certificates and those sorts of things."
For those who can't make it to Genoa on Saturday, an account has been established on the couple's behalf at U.S. Bank.
Donations may be made at any branch to account number 1537542186392.
