The Carson Valley Art Gallery Association is continuing the Second Saturday Art Trail event for the month of October. The event in which the seven art galleries of the Carson Valley feature special demonstrations, art shows and furnish refreshments for visitors, has met with great success over the last few months.

New for the art galleries will be the Art Trail brochure in which all the galleries are listed with descriptions of the type of work to be found at the individual galleries, addresses and phone numbers for the galleries, and an Art Trail map to make the locations easy to find. Brochures can be obtained at many tourist attractions and resorts throughout Reno, Lake Tahoe, Carson City and Carson Valley, or at any participating gallery.

The October schedule includes: ready made scarecrows and other Halloween items for sale all day at East Fork Gallery as well as a "Meet the Artist" reception 1-4 p.m. for woodcraftsman Frank Temple, a reception for quilt artist Rose Hughes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Artisans International Gallery, a reception for Reno oil painter Nancy Giannini from 1-4 p.m. at Artistic Viewpoints Gallery, meet the artist Greg Drinkwine and enjoy refreshments from noon to 5 p.m. at the Davis Gallery and a new show and sale of fine art prints at Art!Rageous.
