First juried art exhibit to be held at museum

A new fine art exhibit by sculpture students and professionals will be offered at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center.


Some of the paintings and sculptures on display have been created by artists who have won numerous awards for their work. Artwork is provided by the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.


Also, live flower arrangements fashioned by merchants and professional flower arrangers will be exhibited. There is still space available for flowers. Entries will be judged on selection of flowers, creativity, and composition. If interested in this juried exhibit, contact Del Bloomquist at 267-0758.


The "Art Alive Exhibit" will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5-19 at the museum, 1477 Highway 395 in Gardnerville. There will be a reception noon to 4 p.m. on Nov. 5. Refreshments will be served.


The public is encourage to vote for their favorite piece. Awards for the overall public selection will be announced after the conclusion of the exhibit.


The daily museum entrance fee is $3. Sundays are free for this exhibit.


The exhibit is planned to be held annually.
