A growth control ordinance is going before Douglas County commissioners today at 5 p.m. The Record-Courier line is giving even odds that the ordinance will be introduced today instead of delayed another month, but there's a lot to discuss. According to the agenda, commissioners are meeting in the courthouse, 1616 Eighth St. There's a lot of other things on the agenda today, so there may be a few items to clean up before the growth agenda is taken up.

Minden Town Board members decried what they feel is their betrayal by the county on the Minden garage. The project has been promised as a means to alleviate competition for parking spaces between town businesses and county government workers. The possibility that the garage might not be built has raised tensions between the county seat and the county.

No, there aren't two Fridays this week, even though Wednesday's edition of The Record-Courier sported one in the top left-hand corner. I haven't the faintest clue how that got past us, but I've taken steps to prevent it from happening in the future.
