The Sierra Nevada Active 20-30 Club will host its third annual Spring Fashion Show Extravaganza 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 29 at Genoa Lakes Golf Resort. Proceeds will benefit special needs children and their programs in Douglas County such as Kids & Horses, Brain Power, among others.
The women's club will partner with area stores such as Baby Willows, Gottschalks, Belle's Boutique, Pazazz, Hot Cha Cha, Watermelon Patch and Especially For You. The event will showcase clothing for men, women and children and will suit every occasion.
The event will also feature a silent auction and a raffle with proceeds also going to Douglas County youth and their programs.
The club is looking for men, women and children models of all ages and all sizes for the fashion show. Anyone interested is asked to contact Shannon Johnson at (530) 545-2639 or e-mail singler77@hotmail.com.
Silent auction items, such as tickets to the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's, a gas barbecue donated by Minden Grill Company, wine baskets and specialty massages are just a few of the items donated by local businesses.
"This is our biggest event of the year," said club president Shannon Johnson. "It's a lot of fun to organize and I feel it's our way of giving back to the community. Our club is about making our projects work for everyone."
The benefit will also feature a wine lunch.
Ticket prices are $35 in advance and $40 at the door and can be purchased online at www.sierranv2030.org, via e-mail request to info@sierranv2030.org, or by calling (530) 545-2639. It is recommended that tickets are pre-purchased.
