Through the first two games at the Atwater Easter Tournament in California, the Douglas baseball team has yet to allow a run.
Coming on the heels of Tyler Hoelzen's one-hit varsity debut on the mound, Tyler May improved to 4-0 on the year with a one-hit performance as Douglas thumped Johansen High School 10-0.
May struck out five and walked three to pick up the win.
Nate Whalin doubled and homered while driving in three runs and Willie Morgan and Brandon Bernard each had two RBIs.
Cory Eilers and Ryan Pruitt each had an RBI while Whalin, Pruitt and Niko Saladis each had two hits.
Douglas improved to 17-4 on the year with the win.
The Douglas High boys' golf team took fifth at the Sierra League match at Washoe Golf Course Tuesday.
Trevor Mitchell led the way for the Tigers, shooting an 89. He was followed by Reese Kizer (94), Troy Shields (98), Keith Young (98) and Ray Feldmiller (103).
"We didn't play as well as we would have liked," Douglas coach Brent Eddy said.
"We had a real opportunity to pick up some Nevada Cup points on Damonte Ranch this week, but we finished fifth."
Douglas is now five total cup points out of the fourth and final sport for Regionals behind Damonte Ranch.
Carson won the tournament with a team score of 428 and Wooster's Bobby McCracken won individual medalist honors.
Reno took second, South Tahoe finished third and Wooster was fourth.
Douglas competes at Wildcreek next week.
