The Douglas High boys' golf team took fifth at the Sierra League match at Washoe Golf Course Tuesday.

Trevor Mitchell led the way for the Tigers, shooting an 89. He was followed by Reese Kizer (94), Troy Shields (98), Keith Young (98) and Ray Feldmiller (103).

"We didn't play as well as we would have liked," Douglas coach Brent Eddy said. "We had a real opportunity to pick up some Nevada Cup points on Damonte Ranch this week, but we finished fifth."

Douglas is now five total cup points out of the fourth and final spot for Regionals behind Damonte Ranch.

Carson won the tournament with a team score of 428 and Wooster's Bobby McCracken won individual medalist honors.

Reno took second, South Tahoe finished third and Wooster was fourth.

Douglas competes at Wildcreek next week.
