The Closet Crafters have created a spring-theme quilt as the prize for their upcoming raffle. The 40-by-57-inch wall hanging or lap quilt features branches and blossoms of flowers reproduced using a crayon transfer process that creates a watercolor effect. The design squares were pieced by Marian Bitton and completed by Diane Malone. A friend of the Closet Crafters did the machine quilting.
The handcrafted quilt will be raffled between April and July. A drawing for the winner will be held on July 3. Raffle tickets will be available for sale at the May 5 spring craft sale at the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, 1255 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville and at the Wacky Waddlers Wiver Wace at Lampe Park in June. Proceeds will be donated to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet.
The Closet Crafters are a group of volunteers who pool their talents to create crafts and handmade items to support the Carson Valley Community Food Closet. For information contact Eileen Boettiger, director, at 782-3711.
