Perry Phil Phillips
1938-2007
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. April 21 at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville for Perry Phil Phillips, 68, who died April 11, 2007, at his home in Topaz Ranch Estates.
Mr. Phillips was born July 6, 1938, in Van Nuys, Calif., to Perry Phillips Sr. and Lorna Bloom. He graduated from Conoga Park High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. Before moving to Topaz Ranch Estates he lived in Mojave, Calif., where he worked as a heavy equipment operator and drove trucks for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He married Garlene Coffman, July 7, 1958, in Reno.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Larry Phillips in 1991 in Mojave, Calif. He is survived by his wife Garlene Phillips of Topaz Ranch Estates; son Douglas Phillips and his wife Julie of Granite Bay, Calif.; son Don Phillips of Tehachapi, Calif.; Norman Phillips and his wife Kathy of Palmdale, Calif.; sisters Elaine and her husband Kenneth Metcalf of Rocklin, Calif. and Diane and her husband Eugene George of Galt, Calif. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren with two on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary. Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City. Memorial contributions can be made to any charity of choice or Barton Hospice.
Edeltraud "Trudy" Steinacker
1933-2007
Edeltraud "Trudy" Steinacker, 73, of Gardnerville, died April 5, 2007, in Reno.
She was born April 23, 1933, in Bad Homburg v.d.H., Germany. She has been a resident of Gardnerville since 1998 having moved here from Derby, Kan. She enjoyed going to the senior center in Gardnerville before she became housebound.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Steinacker of Gardnerville and Reno; sons Roy Steinacker of Gardnerville and Russell Steinacker of Parsons, Kan.; daughter Karen Short of Reno and granddaughters Stephanie Fraysier and Cassie Short.
Washoe Memorial took care of cremation. There was a private service for Mrs. Steinacker at the family home.
