This would not be a good weekend to go camping in the Sierra as there is a substantial chance of getting wet. It starts off with a chance of snow today and tonight then converts to rain on Friday and then more rain Saturday night through Sunday. Tuesday night's storm left 4 inches of snow in Minden, which weather watcher Stan Kapler said cooked down to a quarter-inch of moisture

The Douglas County District Attorney's Office is looking for office space in the Minden Creamery Complex. The lease would be $1,806.33 a month for 1,630 square feet of space and would allow both the office and the Child Support Enforcement Division to move out of the Judicial & Law Enforcement Building. The request is on county commissioners meeting agenda 1:30 p.m. today at the Tahoe Transportation Center in Stateline.

The trial of Ronald Smith, accused of sexual assaulting a boy, continues in Judge Dave Gamble's Minden courtroom today. The boy testified on Wednesday before a jury and alternates of five men and nine women. The trial is expected to last until Monday.
