Emergency personnel responded to a report of a sewer leak along Genoa Lane west of the Carson River bridge Monday night. While the amount was reported to be small, it was allegedly getting into the canal that runs along the river.

The jury in the trial of Ronald John Smith, 42, will resume deliberations today after getting the case on Monday and working for five hours without a verdict. Smith is accused of four counts of sexual assault against a child under the age of 14. Smith faces life in prison should he be convicted.

A woman who was allegedly involved in a March South Lake Tahoe armed robbery is scheduled to appear in District Court this morning. Carson City resident Dawn Fox, 36, was found sitting in a van suspected in a gas station robbery after it ran out of fuel near Cave Rock. Fox was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance.

Flaggers will be out along Highway 756, better known as Centerville, while maintenance is conducted on bridges along the route. Traffic will be down to one lane, but I can't tell from the state's Web site whether the work's going on during the day or at night. It does say workers will return on Wednesday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., whatever that means.

It will be another nice day today with the high predicted to hit 67 degrees today under partly cloudy skies.
