We still have no word on what caused a power outage in the middle of the Valley on Tuesday. Sierra Pacific estimated that nearly 3,000 people were without power in the Gardnerville Ranchos and all the way down to Woodfords, but the cause remains a mystery.

The Nevada Department of Transportation's bridge maintenance crew has moved to Highway 88 between Centerville and Foothill and south of Highway 395. Traffic will be down to one lane with flaggers, presumably at the bridges which cross the east and west forks of the Carson River, among others.

The Nevada Highway Patrol isn't reporting anything in Douglas or Carson, but there is a fire at Highway 395 and Golden in the southbound lanes as of 6:41 a.m.

The weather today may be a little unsettled, warm with partly cloudy skies and breezy. The National Weather Service is predicting wind gusts of up to 21 mph. It will remain a bit breezy overnight. The high temperature to day is expected to hit 70, but yesterday's high was 76 at least, much warmer than the predicted 69.
