Douglas High School's yearbook, Garminada, was included in Jostens' 2007 "Gotcha Covered Look Book," which features a gallery of the best spreads and covers around the country.

Garminada was recently recognized for excellence and spotlighted in the Look Book.

Published annually by Jostens, a leader in the yearbook and memory-preserving industry, the Look Book features a gallery of the best spreads and covers from yearbooks from across the country.

The Look Book is a popular reference guide for yearbook advisers and staffs seeking creative ideas, trends and inspiration.

"The yearbooks chosen for Jostens Gotcha Covered Look Book exemplify sophistication and quality," said Gary Lundgren, Jostens' senior program manager/education. "The design, photography, reporting and journalistic excellence of today's high school yearbook journalists approach that of true professionals. Only the best of the best make it into the pages of the Look Book."

The Douglas High School Garminada was one of 475 yearbooks selected from thousands submitted to a panel of judges that included nationally recognized scholastic journalism professionals and award-winning yearbook advisors.

The Garminada is featured in the Jostens/Adobe Yearbook design contest and special spreads sections of the Look Book.

The spreads were created by Web Editor Kevin Jones and staff member Allison Ward, both 2006 graduates, who were led by Editor Elizabeth Rice and yearbook adviser Kimberly Turner.

"Mrs. Turner and her students honor our school with a great yearbook each year, and they are very deserving of this recognition," said Principal Marty Swisher.
