Despite outhitting the Damonte Ranch Mustangs Thursday afternoon in Reno, the Douglas High softball team couldn't find a way to bring enough runners around the bases.
Damonte pulled away with a 5-2 victory over the Tigers, using two runs in the first and three in the second to take the lead and then holding on for the win.
Emily Weaver went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Tigers and Lauren Hoppe collected three hits.
Stephanie Harper struck out three and walked one while allowing only five hits in the loss.
