At 10 a.m. the bar for the new Fiona's will be open at the Carson Valley Inn. Inn employees will be taking down the wooden wall that has stood between the casino and what was once Michaels and people will see for the first time what is in store for the new place.

The annual forestry and fishery meeting is taking place at Turtle Rock Park this morning. The two-hour session starts at 10 a.m. and will discuss all sorts of things to do with Alpine County's economic future. Let's face it, fish and forests are to Alpine County what gaming is to Nevada.

In honor of our new name and slogan for Western Nevada, I've written a little ditty to the tune of the appropriately named Fugue for Tinhorns from Guys and Dolls. Enjoy
