One of two men who led Washoe Tribal Police on a chase through Indian Hills is scheduled to appear in District Court this morning. Fidel Fuentes, 24, was arrested near the scene of the March 12 incident. The other man sought in connection with the incident, Robert Hernandez, was arrested April 29 in Palm Springs, Calif. Fuentes denied charges of possession of stolen property and obstruction, but is on the calendar today for a plea change.

A tax sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Douglas County Administrative Building on 8th Street in Minden. Three parcels are up for sale including a home site at 1229 Manhattan Way in the Ranchos, 11.55 acres of non-buildable land and a 10-acre lot on Vera Way. The base bids are pretty low, but expect that to change rapidly when the auction starts.

Maybe they should change the name of Hot August Nights to Cool August Nights this week, because compared to the rest of the summer this first full week of August can't be classified as hot. Today the high will hit 85 under partly cloudy skies and Tuesday's high will hit 86. The lows will hover around 50 degrees on both days. Temperatures will warm up to the low 90s by the end of the week.
