Five artists from Artistic Viewpoints Gallery and Studio have been accepted into the 2007 Art at the Classic at the Draft Horse Classic in Grass Valley, Calif.

Artists Ray Freeman, Karen Aleman, and Teri Sweeney each had one piece accepted. Margo Petterson had two paintings accepted and also had a booth juried where she will display and sell more of her work.

Artist Nancy Giannini had four pieces accepted into the show, with one being used for marketing the show. All the artists except Giannini are members of the Eastern Sierra Professional Artists, a group of artists who meet at the gallery weekly to critique each others artwork, discuss marketing and plans for future events to promote professionalism in the local art community.

The artists are currently showing at the Wild Mustangs of Nevada Art Show at Artistic Viewpoints, 1368 Highway 395, Suite B in Gardnerville, and have been accepted into other shows throughout the country.

Sweeney attended the Mother Lode National Art Show in Placerville, Calif., Petterson showed at the American Academy of Equine Art Show in Lexington, Ky., and Freeman and Petterson attended the Western Art Roundup in Winnemucca.

The Draft Horse Classic is Sept. 20-23 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, 11228 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley. More than 80 artists will showcase painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and prints.

It will be held in conjunction with the Draft Horse Classic, the premiere draft horse show in the west.
