Mike Bournazian


1945-2007


A celebration of life for Mike Bournazian, 62, an 81Ú2 year resident of Gardnerville will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Walton's Douglas County Mortuary.


Mr. Bournazian died Aug.11, 2007, in Gardnerville. He was born Feb. 19, 1945, in San Jose.


He married Donna Bournazian Aug. 17, 1966, in Carson City. He was retired from General Motors.


Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Wendy of Lander, Wyo.; son, Ricky, of Tracy, Calif.; sister-in-law, Stephanie of Paso Robles, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sharon of Gardnerville, brother, Ron of Minden; sister and brother-in-law, Buddy and Renee Ward of Sisters, Ore.; six grandchildren, numerous nieces and one nephew. Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory. A private burial will be at a later date.


Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.




John W. Grant


1941-2007


Thirty-six-year Gardnerville resident John W. Grant died Aug. 11, 2007. He was 66.


Mr. Grant was born April 9, 1941, in Brawley, Calif., to Les and Jeanette Grant. He married Darline Grant Dec. 16, 1961, in Westminster, Calif.


Mr. Grant retired from the Nevada Army National Guard.


He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob of Gardnerville.


He is survived by his wife, Darline; children John and Nora Grant, Darin Grant, Jeff Grant, John and Jodi Nelson; mother Jeanette Grant; eight grandchildren Justice Fricke, David Slater, Dillon Grant, Robert Grant, Jazmin Grant, Demi Grant, Lyrissa Grant and Deelaney Grant.


Cremation is through Walton's Sierra Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House.




Cecilia 'Ceal'


Hardwicke


1929-2007


A celebration of life is Saturday at Hilltop Community Church for Cecilia "Ceal" Hardwicke, 78, who died Aug. 9, 2007.


Mrs. Hardwicke was born July 7, 1929, in Chicago to Joseph and Lillian Mackin. She grew up in Chicago and excelled as a synchronized swimmer.


She moved to California after graduating from high school and married Don Hardwicke on Jan. 9, 1954, in Malibu, Calif.


The couple lived in California until they moved to Minden in 1969.


Mrs. Hardwicke was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen, in 1957; husband Don in 1980 and both parents.


She is survived by daughters Donna Chizek and husband Mala of Minden and Madeline Romero and husband Joe of Burbank, Calif.; grandchildren Kevin Atchison, Holly Spiers, Alexa Chizek, Liz Romero, Joe Romero Jr., Kristy Gallardo, Lissa Romero, Gabe Romero; nine great grandchildren and sister Margaret Santens.




Jere 'Nana' Heitman


1926-2007


Jere Heitman, 81, died in Meridian, Idaho, on Aug. 7, 2007. Mrs. Heitman was born with her twin sister, Pat, on May 9, 1926, to Joe and Irene Campbell in Genoa. Her grandparents were pioneer Nevada families.


She married Dennis Heitman 61 years ago in Carson City.


They owned the Heitman Ranch in Carson Valley until acquiring Willow Creek Ranch in Orovada in 1963. Since 1980, they operated other properties in Idaho until retiring.


She made every holiday special and enjoyed preparing for large family gatherings.


She was very artistic; her needlework and paintings are on display in many family homes.


Mrs. Heitman is survived by her husband Dennis; Dennis, Jr. of Orovada; Lana and Jeff Servatius of Eagle, Idaho; Margie and Rob Wonhof of Reno; Bob and Marlene Fettic of Orovada; Jody and Jim Copenhaver of Elko; Jeanne Fettic of Winnemucca. She will be fondly remembered as "Nana" to her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and families. The Heitman family wishes to thank Life's Doors Hospice and Home Care for their care and support.


Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral in Garden City, Idaho.


The family will hold private family committal services. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
