The Douglas County Sheriff's Office reported 63 contacts for domestic violence July 18-Aug. 7.

There were 34 verbal domestics, 14 adult arrests for domestic battery, 11 referrals to the District Attorney for review or prosecution, two referrals for an arrest warrant for battery and two agency assists.

Thirty juveniles witnessed domestic violence and three juveniles were suspects in verbal domestics for a total of 33 juvenile contacts.

The Family Support Council issued 13 requests to East Fork Justice Court for temporary restraining orders with 13 approvals.

There were six requests for anti-stalking and harassment orders with five approvals and one denial.

Connie Richardson, sheriff's office domestic violence prevention coordinator, said the average range for domestic violence contacts is 16-22 per week for the time frame.

The average range for children witnessing domestic violence is 9-11 per week with juvenile suspects at 0-2 per week.
