Tickets for the Genoa Candy Dance dinner dance are available now at various Carson Valley locations.
The dinner dance will be 6-10 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Orchard House in Genoa. The ticket price is $20 for adults; $12 for children age 12 and under. Five hundred tickets are available. Ticket sales will end on Sept. 21.
All tickets will be sold in advance. No tickets will be available at the door.
Tickets are also available by mail. Mail a check (Visa/Master charge accepted) for the number attending, your telephone number and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Candy Dance Dinner Dance, Town of Genoa, P.O. Box 14, Genoa, NV 89411.
The dinner will be a "Tex-Mex" buffet catered by David Walley's. The menu will include: chicken and beef tacos, pork tamales, cheese enchiladas, sliced beef in Tex-Mex sauce, rice, beans and tortillas. Dessert will be provided by John Ascuaga's Nugget. A no-host bar will sell beer, wine, margaritas and soft drinks.
Live music for "Candy Dancin'" will be performed by the Dealer's Choice band, joined by a guest fiddler. Originally from Gardnerville, the band specializes in dance music, playing mostly country songs along with classic rock and pop selections.
The group includes:
- Dennis Richardson (guitar and vocals) has played clubs, concerts and fairs in Nevada and California for the past 20 years.
- Kevin Hayes (drums and vocals). A native of New York, Hayes graduated from Long Island University with a bachelors in music. He has worked in clubs and casinos in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. He opened for the Neville Brothers at the 1992 New Orleans Mardi Gras and played with Star Search winner, Jenny Jones.
- Don Helwig (bass guitar and vocals) has 20 years experience playing clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest.
