Mary Radley
1917-2007
A celebration of life was Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church for Mary Radley, 89, who died Aug. 19, 2007 in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Radley was born Dec. 8, 1917 in Karlsruhe, N.D. to Ben and Kristina Streifel. She married Veryl Radley, Oct. 4, 1941 in Devils Lake, N. D. She lived in North Dakota for 24 years and then moved to California in 1941. She was a volunteer at Victor Valley Hospital. She has been a resident of Gardnerville for five years and was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church as well as High Sierra Fellowship in Gardnerville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Veryl Radley. She is survived by her daughters Jeanette Frazier and her husband Joe of Victorville, Calif., Betty Hendon and husband Michael of Gardnerville, Pat Simmons and husband Milt of Gardnerville; her three sisters Mac Solem of Devils Lake, N.D., Rose Ooley of Seal Beach, Calif., Emily Kambeitz of Burnsville, Minn; as well as 13 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

Leon Shuler
1918-2007
A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Aug. 25, at the Living Word Fellowship in Gardnerville, for Leon Shuler, 88, who died July 29, 2007.
Mr. Shuler was born Dec. 23, 1918, in Aldrich, Mo. He attended Springfield University on a basketball scholarship until moving to Southern California where he worked for the Bell Telephone and was ultimately drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in both World War II and the Korean conflict, receiving a total of eight military honors. After discharge, he returned to work for California Bell, working in both California and Nevada until retirement in 1977. After retirement, he and his wife Frances, traveled in their motor home throughout the Midwest, visiting family, hunting and fishing. They also traveled to Canada, Mexico, Alaska and Israel. Mr. Shuler became active in the real estate business when he moved to Gardnerville from Las Vegas. The Shulers have also been very active in their church family of the Living Word Fellowship in Gardnerville, leaving a host of friends who will greatly miss him.
Mr. Shuler was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters as well as his first wife Virginia. He is survived by his wife Frances Shuler of Gardnerville; daughters Elizabeth Ortiz of Santa Clarita, Calif. and Margaret Shuler of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; as well as four granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
