Sports Today: Galliett wins series crown

Dylan Galliett, 9, of Minden, brought home series titles in the 65cc beginner class and the 50cc open class of the 2007 Triple Crown of Night Motocross, bolstered by a strong finish at the series finale earlier this month.


Galliett started racing in both classes last year and is one of the youngest competitors in the 65cc class.


Galliett was followed in the 50cc open final standings by South Tahoe's Evan Olsen and Ethan Olsen in second and third place respectively.


Minden's KC Green tied for eighth, Tyler Moore of Gardnerville took 11th place and Minden's Cole Green took 12th in the series, which opened its season at the Douglas County Fairgrounds last month.


In the 65cc beginner standings, Galliett was followed by Gardnerville's Kole Ackerson in second, Gardnerville's Auggie Roefer in third and Minden's Ryan Lippincott in fourth.


Gardnerville's Tyler Lera tied for ninth, Gardnerville's Christian Gorman took 11th, James Hildman of Gardnerville tied for 13th and Christan Gorham of Gardnerville took 15th.
