Rose Ellen Valentine


1921-2007


No services have been announced for Rose Ellen Valentine, 86, who died Aug. 26, 2007, in Carson City.


Mrs. Valentine was born April 10, 1921, in LIma, Ohio, to Oathel Daniel Eversole and Helen Morman-Eversole. She married Dale C. Valentine in Alameda, Calif., and worked as a bookkeeper. She was the president of Willow Glen Business and Professional Women's Club and also enjoyed bridge, bowling and reading. Mrs. Valentine was a resident of Gardnerville for 10 years, moving here from Auburn, Calif.


She was preceded in death by her husband Dale C. Valentine and seven brothers and sisters in the eastern United States.


She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Matt and Laura Valentine of Gardnerville; her sister Dorothy Fairburn; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City. Memorial donations can be made to the diabetes association.




Keith E. Woodruff


1937-2007


Keith E. Woodruff, 70, a resident of Minden for several years, died at his home, Aug. 28, 2007. At his request, instead of services, he asked those who knew him, to go for a walk in a favorite place and remember their conversations together.


Mr. Woodruff was born March 6, 1937, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Emery Woodruff and Myra Lee Whitmire. He graduated from Buhl High School and Idaho State College. He had a career as an atomic scientist at the Nevada Test Site in Las Vegas until 1975 and later retired as manager of administration in 2001 for Southwest Gas Corp. in Carson City. He married Beverly Hill, April 16, 1995. He loved the earth and was an ardent potter and gardener.


He is survived by his wife Beverly of Minden; daughters and sons-in-law Kristi and Rick Salter of Las Vegas, Renee and Geoff McConnell of Boise, Idaho; Suzette and Lance Landholm of Las Vegas; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Becky Woodruff of Las Vegas; sister and brother-in-law Wanda and Bill Mawhinney of Port Ludlow, Wash., as well as seven grandchildren.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Funeral Home in Minden. Cremation will take place at Walton's Funeral Home in Carson City. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
