The R-C Morning Report

According to the radar, there's a big old blot of moisture heading north over the Sierra ridge. The Weather Service reports that if we get rain it will be after 11 a.m., but this looks like it might arrive early, if it makes it over the hill. Without any wind, there's a good chance it won't be shredded by the Sierra.

The National Weather Service is giving the best odds in a long time that there's going to be a downpour in Carson Valley today or tonight. Forecasters are listing the chance for heavy rain is 30 percent. While those odds wouldn't get you far in a casino, after a pretty dry spate, it's not bad. The high today is supposed to hit 87, though those predictions have been below the actual temperatures. At present its 58 degrees under cloudy skies.

I'm spending so much time on the weather because this is the last week of August before Labor Day weekend and there isn't that much going on. Now I know the moment I say that all heck will break loose. So be it, I said with an eye to the sky.
