The Douglas High freshman girls' basketball team got its season off to a 1-1 start at the Fallon Optimist Tip Off Classic.
In the season-opener against rival Carson, Douglas lost a close game to the Senators 29-26.
Jackie Harper led Tigers with 11 points and Brianne Burnside had eight.
Also scoring for the Tigers were Jennifer Gorton and Carly McCullough with two each and Alex Laing, Kathleen Salazar and Naomi Roberts with one each.
Douglas took a 36-11 win over Fernley in the second game, getting 10 points from Burnside and six from Laing.
Harper, McCullough and Roberts had four each and Megan King, Sophie Wilson and Gorton each had two.
Natalie Freitas and Dani Trujillo each had one point.
Burnside was named to the all-tournament team for her play.
