The Carson Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is anticipating selling out of Christmas tree tags sometime today or before noon Thursday. Brisk sales have resulted in the selling of the 4,400 tags in 18 days.

Forest manager's attribute this years brisk sales to a lack of snow in the tree cutting areas.

"Roads that are typically snowed-in are open and clear right now, allowing the public greater access to our Christmas tree cutting areas," said Shelly Schaff, Forest Products Officer.

The remaining tags are distributed between the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Supervisor's Office in Sparks, the Carson Ranger District Office in Carson City and the Alpine Chamber of Commerce in Markleeville, California.

The remaining Christmas tree tags are on a first-come first-serve basis.
