Rich's Highway Club is opening in downtown Gardnerville, across the street from the J.T. Basque Bar & Dining Room.
"The more bars and restaurants in an area, the better," said owner Richard Marquez.
Marquez recently moved to the Valley from San Francisco, where he owned and operated three bars over 30 years.
"We offer a comfortable, friendly lounge-type setting with wide-screen sports televisions, darts and pool tables," said Marquez.
Rich's Highway Club is located at 1435 A Highway 395 in Gardnerville. The bar is open Monday through Thursday, from noon to midnight, Friday and Saturday noon to 2 a.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to midnight. The club will be hosting its grand opening Dec. 15 from 3 to 8 p.m. The event will include food and a pool tournament. For more information, call 782-9414.

Denson was born and raised in Minden and has just moved back to the Valley from San Diego where she graduated from Paul Mitchell the School. She has been at Drago Salon for three months.
"My advanced training at Paul Mitchell in contemporary color and precision cutting is unique to the area and offers a new modern style to the Valley, which is why I chose to work at Drago because of his same philosophies," she said.
Denson is available Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
