Planning commissioners Mike Olson and Matt McKinney have completed their terms and officials will be replacing them in the coming weeks, just two of the many openings on Douglas County volunteer boards.

Douglas County has 27 openings on everything from the Airport Advisory Committee to the Genoa Historic District Commission and applications are being taken.

The original application deadline was set for Dec. 14, but applications will be accepted after that date, according to Lisa Granahan, assistant to County Manager Dan Holler.

"It would be great to have them by Dec. 14, but if applications are turned in later that's acceptable," Granahan said.

Appointments for these positions will be made Jan. 3, at a regular meeting of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners.
