The Douglas High girls' junior varsity basketball team was strong and consistent through all four quarters of its home-opener last week in a 51-36 win over Galena.
Ne'Jae Jackson led the team with 17 points, going 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
Edna Meza had eight points, Sara Mangiaracina had six and Niki Hamzik had five.
Emily Weaver added four, Julia Miller had three and Jessica Burtt, CJ Baumgartner, Susie White and Briana Rutherdale each had two.
Janelle Sison and Kaitlin Babbitt each had strong defensive games with several steals and rebounds.
