A stormy pattern is returning to Western Nevada on Sunday, according to a special statement issued by the National Weather Service at 3:06 p.m. The first system will arrive late Sunday, bringing gusty winds ahead of a cold front, with the strongest winds Sunday night and Monday morning. Light to moderate amounts of snow from Tahoe north are expected on Monday.
A stronger wetter storm is expected on Tuesday and could bring up to 2 feet of snow to the Sierra with rain in the lower elevations. Snow will be falling in the foothills by Tuesday evening. A third storm may hit on Wednesday or Thursday and will be colder, if the weather model pans out.
