Actor Kal Penn will visit Minden tonight to help kick off a mock caucus and holiday party in Douglas County in preparation for the Jan. 19 Democratic caucuses. Penn has starred in several films, including "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" and "The Namesake" and currently stars in the television series "House."
Penn will be at the event 7:45 p.m. at the Carson Valley Inn.
The campaign welcomes all Douglas County residents to learn more about the new Nevada caucuses. Attendees will actively participate in a mock caucus where they can experience how Nevada's primary system will work and ask campaign staff questions about Barack Obama.
The event is free and open to the public. To RSVP, contact Franny Sharpe, Obama Field Organizer for Douglas County, at fsharpe@barackobama.com or (775) 842-8832.
