Café Bella Vita in Minden Village has a new owner, Leslie Dupont. Dupont moved to the area in 2003 from Boston and has more than 15 years of experience in restaurant management.
"I sold a cafe back east and moved to Tahoe to eventually open another out here," she said.
Bella Vita offers homemade soups, sandwiches served on squaw bread, Thai peanut wraps, and salads like curry orzo.
The eatery also offers gourmet cheese, fine wine and fresh fruit smoothies.
Bella Vita is at 1657 Lucerne Street and is open 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Backroads Bar & Grill open for breakfast
Backroads Bar & Grill, located off Airport Road, is open for breakfast 7:30-11 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant is open for lunch, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant is open for dinner 5-9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
