Out of 185 projects, 20 winners emerged from Minden Elementary School's Invention Convention on Dec. 17.
Shaelin Morefield's Cable Car Coffee and Tea won first place for sixth grade. Jackie Johnson's Amazing Magnetic Jewelry Box won second place. Camry Varble's Cool Crutch and Brandon Pankey's Crazy Chameleon tied for third place.
Alex Tessmann's Mango Brush won first place for fifth grade. Kai Stoll's Condiment Cutter and Amy Westre's Shakey Wakey tied for second place. Carlos Lopez's Bathroom for Dog in Houses and Cooper Whittemore's The Hat Hair Solution tied for third place.
Leah McKinney's Spoons Full of Sugar won first place for fourth grade. Madison Harvey's Feeling Sunshine Glove Warmer and Ashleigh Baldwinson's The Comfortable Cooler Pillow tied for second place. Audrey Muller's the Tall Tale and Chandler Howe's the Under Cover Desk Caddy tied for third place.
Levi Costa's Horsemen's Sore Leg Pad and Reagan Roberson's Drown-Proof Pool tied for first place for third grade. Cade Pankey's Water Wheels won second place. Alex Westre's Cry Stopper and Alex Harker's Sink-O-Matic tied for third place.
Ethan McKinney's Wasp Tape won first place for first grade.
Winners will advance to the Lemelson Young Inventors' Challenge in Reno in March.
