Minden to pick water attorney tonight

Members of the Minden Town Board will meet tonight to pick a "hired gun" to help protect the town's water rights from the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.

The Paiutes are challenging water transfers in Carson Valley, saying that underground water use is affecting the Carson River, which is in turn affecting the water demand on the Truckee River which drains into Pyramid Lake.

Town board members meet 6 p.m. at the CVIC Hall on Esmeralda Avenue in Minden.
