County Manager Dan Holler is scheduled to undergo his annual performance evaluation today at the Douglas County commissioners meeting in Stateline. The meeting kicks off at 1 p.m. and the longest thing between the start and Dan's evaluation is the audit report. Dan picked a good day to have his evaluation, since the predicted foot of snow at lake level may dampen turn-out for the meeting.
It's going to be a sloppy drive into work this morning with the National Weather Service sticking to its story that there will be up to 2 inches of snow falling down to the Valley floors. A snow advisory for Western Nevada went into effect at 4 a.m. and 2-5 inches of snow is expected to fall in the foothills above Carson and Reno. The advisory expires at 10 a.m. today.
The roads are already a mess in the Sierra with chains mandatory on Interstate 80 and highways 50 and 88. Snow tires or chains are being required on any other Sierra Tahoe road that peeks its head up above 6,000 feet including Kingsbury Grade and Highway 50 out of Carson City.
