What is It exhibit
Artisans International Gallery will present an exhibit of work by local area artists on the theme, "What is It?" beginning Feb. 26 and continuing through April 19.
"This theme is a way to force our minds to think in a way we may not normally think - either something is out of context or it is not something our eye is used to seeing because the object may be too close or too far away," said Bronwyn Mason, owner of Artisans International Gallery. "The theme is a way to trick our minds into seeing something in the same way we imagine animals or objects in the clouds." Many of the artists will be present at a reception, 3-5 p.m. March 8.
Artisans International Galley is at 1653 Lucerne Street, Suite B, in Minden Village. Information, 783-8881.
Call for artists
Artists in all media are invited to participate in the "Elements" juried exhibit and sale at Artisans International Gallery, May 6 to June 28.
Work in all media will be considered and should conform to the theme of one of the four elements: earth, wind, fire or water. Materials used may also be one or more combinations of earth (pottery), fire (glass), water, or air.
Submit portfolio of related work on CD or photographs, no smaller than 4 by 6 inches, by March 27 to Artisans International Gallery, 1653 Lucerne St., Suite B in Minden, 89423 or by e-mail at artisans@artisansinternationalinc.com.
Accepted artists will be notified by April 8. A maximum of five pieces per artist will be accepted. If juried into the exhibit, all work must be submitted to the gallery between May 1-3 unless other arrangements are made.
