There's not much to report, except the weather forecast has changed a fourth time in the last four days. According to the special statement issued by the National Weather Service at 6:10 a.m. it will be breezy today and partly cloudy through Christmas. The high is expected to get up to 47, which is pretty much what we have now.
A chance of snow showers will hit after 4 a.m. on Wednesday as a mass of polar air heads south. However, the weather models are sketchy, so it could go anywhere.
Gardnerville resident Leslie Pearson sent me this letter, which won't make it into the paper until after Christmas.
"I went to the Starbucks in Minden on Sunday afternoon and sat behind a black SUV with a license plate that read GOMMYGO while I waited for my drink. When the SUV pulled out of the drive thru and I pulled forward, the barista told me that the person in the black SUV had paid for my drink. Thanks for the peppermint mocha, GOMMYGO. And Merry Christmas."
Everything will close early today, including The Record-Courier. We won't be open on Christmas and we're putting the paper to bed today, where it can no doubt dream of sugar plums dancing in its head (lines) until it wakes up on Wednesday.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone.
