It snowed last night and there's still a bit of snow on the roads and they're a tad slick this morning. There are chain controls on all three routes over the Sierra and chains or snow tires are being required on Highway 50 over Spooner and on Highway 28 to Incline. The real snow must have fallen to the east, because chains or snow tires are being required on 95A between Yerington and Fernley and on Interstate 80 between Fernley and Reno.
For all the road controls, the Nevada Highway Patrol isn't reporting any significant accidents on the highways of Western Nevada this morning. There is an injury accident on Interstate 80 in Churchill County, but that's as close as it gets.
Snow showers are likely today after 4 p.m. according to the National Weather Service with a 70 percent chance of precipitation. It won't snow much, but it could be a nuisance on the commute home tonight. That storm will last until about 4 a.m. and then the wind will pick up again and it will warm up to 47 degrees on Saturday.
