The winners of the Carson Valley Arts Council's third annual Gingerbread House Decoration Contest were announced at the Artisan's Reception on Dec. 15. The winners in the children's division were Jacob Galliett, first-place; Katie Antti, second-place and Forest Cameron, third-place. In the youth division: Douglas County Parks & Recreation Kids Club-Piñon Hills Elementary School, first-place; Douglas County Parks & Recreation Kids Club-Scarselli Elementary School, second-place and the Boys & Girls Club of the Carson Valley, third-place. In the family division: the Kaufmann family, first-place; the Todd family, second-place and the Jackson/Milldelton family, third-place.
Each contestant won a ribbon and a certificate of award. As a special surprise, first-place winners also received a congressional certificate of recognition from the office of Congressman Dean Heller.
The CVAC Gingerbread House Decorating Contest was sponsored in part by the Greater Nevada Credit Union and As You Like It Decorators. The arts council also extends its appreciation to all who participated in the completion.
