The Douglas High School freshman boys' and girls' basketball teams each clinched Sierra League championships Tuesday night, picking up twin victories over Reno.
The Tiger junior varsity boys' team also beat Reno Tuesday, meaning that a win Friday over Wooster would seal up a league title for Douglas there as well.
All three teams will be at home Friday, with the freshman girls' starting at 3:15 p.m.
Douglas High graduate Andy McIntosh was among 21 University of Nevada athletes named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.
McIntosh, a sophomore receiver for the Wolf Pack, is carrying a 3.60 GPA in pre-business.
Douglas High does not have any student-athletes scheduled to sign with a four-year school today, although Tiger linebacker Brent Koontz is expected to catch on with one program or another before the year is over.
Today is the beginning of the national winter signing period for high school football players to sign letters of intent.
