All nine student members of the Carson Valley Sinfonia who participated in the Northern Nevada Music Educators Solo and Ensemble Festival at Dayton High School, received "superior" ratings.

Those bringing home the top awards were: Christina Erb, Michele Forman, Brian Jaggard, Kody Miller, Ally Reith, John Scott and Nica Scott, violins; Megan Lambay, viola, and Tom Scott, cello.

All are students or former students of the Carson Valley Violin School. The school, now in its 15th year, was founded in 1992 by John and Nelle O'Neill and offers lessons on orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass) to students of all ages.
