• District Judge Dave Gamble reduced bail to $750,000 for a 42-year-old Gardnerville man charged with four counts of sexual assault with a child under 14 in connection with the alleged abuse of his former girlfriend's 12-year-old son. Page A3

• A 36-year-old Minden man who spent the last year living on the streets after he ran away from a substance abuse treatment program was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison for his second felony conviction of driving under the influence. Page A3

• Physical education classes at Minden and Piñon Hills elementary schools took on a new curriculum the last several weeks. In a joint effort between Douglas County 4-H, MEFIYI, Douglas County School District and Sierra Nevada Ballet, the Dance in the Schools program taught the students rhythm and movement from a professional dancer who makes dancing fun for them. • Today, the Douglas County Senior Center will have its annual 90-plus birthday celebration for those 90 and older. Festivities start at 10:30 a.m. There will be a certificate and flower presentation to the seniors. Page B2
