Trudy Lynn Madieros

1950-2007

No services are planned for Trudy Lynn Madieros, 56, who died at her Gardnerville home Feb. 9, 2007.

Mrs. Madieros was born Sept. 30, 1950, in West Carthage, N.Y,. to Fred Whiting and Clare Duffner. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1969 and worked in the food industry as a waitress as well as a homemaker. She married Rick Madieros Aug. 17, 1981, at Lake Tahoe. They lived in Temecula, Calif., before moving to Gardnerville 4 1/2 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her father and her two brothers Casey and Ricky Whiting. She is survived by her husband Rick Madieros of Gardnerville, sons and daughters-in-law Craig and Donna Madieros and Mike and Klancy Madieros, all of Gardnerville, as well as her mother Clare Duffner, also of Gardnerville. She had four grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary with cremation to take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City. Memorial donations can be made to American Heart Association or the Northern Nevada Food Closet.

Alice Harris Ramnes

1913-2007

Alice Harris Ramnes, 94, died Feb. 20, 2007, at Evergreen Mountain View Nursing Home in Carson City.

Mrs. Ramnes was born March 3, 1913, in Swan Quarter, N.C., to Robbie and Victoria Harris. As the only girl of seven children, she was called "Sister" by both parents and her six brothers. She was married to Colonel O.A. Ramnes for 57 years. During her husbands 30 years in the U.S. Army she was the epitome of an Army wife, accompaning him on tours to Japan, Okinawa and Korea.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her two sons Robert and Michael as well as six of her seven brothers. She is survived by her two daughters, Jo Anne Lange of Minden and Linda McCutcheon of Austin, Texas as well as her youngest brother, Milton Harris, of Greensboro, N.C.

The family would like to thank the staff of Evergreen Mountain View Nursing Home for the care given to their mother during her final year.
