The Douglas County School District Early Childhood Special Education Program is holding a Child Find from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Minden Elementary School. The Child Find screens children, ages 3 to 5 years, for possible delays, special needs, in speech, language, cognitive/pre-academic skills, self-help and/or motor skills.
The Douglas County Early Childhood Special Education Program is a district-wide special education program serving three to five year old children with special needs. Many services are available through the program for those children who qualify. These services include:
-- Developmental preschool
-- Speech and language therapy
-- Physical therapy
-- Occupational therapy
-- Adaptive physical education
-- Behavioral/social-emotional intervention
-- Consultation with local preschools
The Douglas County Early Childhood Special Education Program is committed to fostering the continuous growth and development of each child by aligning its services to meet the uniquely different needs of each student in the program.
