Four juveniles between the ages of 14 and 15 are suspects in the tagging of Gardnerville Elementary School last week.
Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Tom Mezzetta said investigators have a lead in the case, where vandals painted profanity, satanic symbols and references to gang involvement on the back of the elementary school.
Head Custodian Joe Roybal said he picked up primer to paint over the graffiti.
"I hate to see this stuff come to Gardnerville" Roybal said.
School has been out since Dec. 22.
Roybal said he believes skateboarders were responsible for the vandalism.
The Douglas County School District filed a police report reporting the vandalism.
There is no estimate on the cost of the damage.
"It looks like they went around the school and did somewhat substantial tagging," Mezzetta said. "We take graffiti vandalism pretty seriously."
