The 13th annual Genoa Antiques Show and Sale will be in the historic Genoa Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The event, attended by both dealers and the public, is often sold out months before the show, according to organizer Martha Williams.
The addition of the appraisal clinic has made the show well rounded. People can bring their items in for a verbal appraisal of $5 per item.
While there, visitors can see the historic sites of Genoa, such as Mormon Station State Historical Park, the John S. Childs Building near the southwest corner of Nixon and Main streets, "the oldest thirst parlor" in the state, Genoa Bar and several homes built in the 1850s-1860s, such as the Pratt House, the Pink House, the home of the Kinseys and the Genoa Court House Museum.
Brochures on what to visit in Genoa are available inside the local businesses on the weekends, and in the Town of Genoa Building during the week as well.
Admission to the Genoa Antiques Show and Sale is $1.50 per person and benefits, in part, the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra.
Carson Valley Pops Orchestra performers Danny and Cecilia Yale, and Cecilia's mother Georgette Twain are scheduled to perform at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Yales will perform on violins, and Twain is a banjoist who is scheduled to be inducted into the Banjo Hall of Fame in Guthrie, Okla., on May 24.
